How do I Start a High Pressure Water Cleaning Business?

As Featured On EzineArticles

To start any business, including a high pressure water cleaning business, you first need to have a business plan. Your planning needs to answer critical questions with regards to your business goal and mission, financing, personnel, marketing and competition.

On goals and missions your business needs to have a definition of what you want it to do. Are you a niche provider specializing in a special type of cleaning? Are you going to grow via franchising? Will you be a one-person operation? Are you going to be turn-key operation that sells the business once it’s successful? There are no wrong answers, but having an answer gives your business a goal and direction.

Financing is critical. Are you going to fund your start up operations with your own personal money or a small business loan? Will you have investors who help you start and share in the profits? The money you secure pays for your initial equipment, vehicles, and other costs that keep you going until the business starts to be successful. P

Personnel is another key point. Are you going to do it all yourself as a business or will you need help? You may find you are very good at the cleaning side but have no idea how to manage business accounting and taxes, for example. Your plan needs to spell out how you will staff all your various business tasks at each level of growth.

Marketing and competition analysis is a clincher in finding out if your business will have a chance. If there are 500 high pressure water cleaning businesses already in your neighborhood chances are you’re not going to make much business. Your entry level challenge is very high since so many businesses are already established. Alternatively, you could find a market that has no service and is a gold mine. Then you need to have a marketing plan how to tell these prospective customers about your cleaning service so you can gain them as customers. That includes messaging, branding, website presence, advertising and more.

A business plan has much more detail than just the above and it is a valuable road map to your business’ success. Don’t avoid it, embrace planning. And see your business succeed in a well thought way.

What kind of Jobs around the House could I do using a High Pressure Water Cleaner?

A high pressure water cleaner can be used for a variety of cleaning around the house.  Windows can be cleaned much quicker with such a device. Please be careful though to use the nozzle from the appropriate distance so you do not break the glass with the force of the pressure.

These cleaners are also well suited to ‘sweep’ walkways and paths. The devices use limited amounts of water to push away dirt and debris that have formed on the walkway. Just make sure that you are pushing all the dirt off the walk path entirely. If this is not done the dirt will pool in the lowest area on the path creating the look of a dried mud puddle. A little extra time and attention will avoid this look. In addition to crayon, gum can also be removed from sidewalks with the use of a high pressure water cleaner. When used with the right chemicals a high pressure water cleaner can remove unwanted paint or graffiti. Various wands or nozzles can be used to pinpoint the unwanted material.

The cleaner can also be used for cleaning off the patio or using a high pressure water cleaner on a vinyl fence will not only get rid of the spider webs but will leave the fence whiter.

When laying bricks a high pressure cleaner can be used to clean off unwanted mortar. Be sure to wait until the mortar is at least 7 days old.

The most natural place to use a high pressure water cleaner is as a home car wash. They can get the dirt and bugs off much easier than the simple hose and sponge we had when we were children. These devices work especially well on tires and wheel hubs to get off the road grime that easily builds up in the summertime and winter.

How can I Improve the Exterior of my House using a High Pressure Water Cleaner?

Save up to 65% with Karcher factory reconditioned tools @ CPOPressureWashers.com!
High-pressure water cleaners are great for projects that involve a large space or for areas you can’t easily reach.

For example, that wood deck you’ve been avoiding because you are not ready to spend two days on your hands and knees with a sponge and a bucket of soapy water? Use your high-pressure water cleaner to wash away dirt, dust and water stains on your deck within a fraction of the time it would take by hand.

Or, have you noticed the dirt and grime on the second-story of your house that is still there from the last windy rainstorm? Or the dirt and cobwebs congregated in your soffits? Use the high-pressure cleaner to safely wash away dirt and debris from areas you would otherwise need a tall ladder to reach.

If your home’s exterior is stucco, use a high-pressure washer to blast away the build up of dust, dirt and unsightly discoloration due to the effects of weather and age.

High-pressure washing is also an effective way to restore the rich color of a brick and mortar exterior. This type of cleaning not only rinses away dirt, grime and moss, but it restores the richness and ‘new’ look of brick. You’ll be amazed how efficient and easy these jobs are with the aid of a high-pressure water cleaner.

If you have never used a high-pressure cleaner, you might start with a simple project such as cleaning dirt and small debris off the driveway. From there, you can build up your confidence to tackle the bigger outdoor cleaning projects. Your neighbors will be jealous and just might be inspired enough to clean up their exterior too!
